Two signals, HW4x1.xls and HW4x2.xls shown in the figure below have been sampled
eight times per cycle (sampling rate = 480).
An instantaneous current relay is to be designed with a
pickup of 20 amps (RMS).
- Determine
the time that the relay will pickup for both DFT and cosine filter
algorithms for the two sampled signals.
- Determine
the percent overreach for the two algorithms for each of the signals
- Determine
the true maximum RMS value of the signals
- Which
algorithm meets the requirements for this relay.
